Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park is a protected area for many species of flora and fauna. Visitors are remainded to respect the park's status and help to preserve the environment. Intending visitors to Bromo should report to an official of the forestry Department (PHPA) at Bromo or to the Board of Natural Resourse Conservation (BKSDA) at Jl. Raden Intan (P.O. BOX 54), Malang, Telp. (0341) 491828. For the save of safety heed the local advice concerning the weather, especially if considering climbing  Mt. Semeru. In any event, warm clothing is essential.
