Hoga "Paradise"
island is an underwater paradise of its chaining huge sea gardens, colorful coral and
various species of colorful fish. The island is ringed out by a long silver-white sandy
beach. The big wave and the long reef of the northern coast of the island which faces
Banda Sea, will enable the surfings. The Southern coast of the island faces with Ambeua
village, the capital of Kaledupa subdistrict. At this coast, you can do various kinds of
water sports such as swimming, snorkling, scuba diving, fish hunting, sailing, sunbathing.
In fact, Hoga island is only a small part of the giant reef in Wakatobi
(Wanci-Kaledupa-Tomia-Binongko) Little Archipelago. Wakatobi is the little Hawaii in
between Asia and Australia. To get to this island, you must come through Kendari via Ujung
Pandang Airport in South Sulawesi.
There is only one good house
for visitors to stay at Hoga island. And there is no freshwater resource on the island.
However, the villagers sell freshwater, taken from the main land of Kaledupa just about 15
minutes cruising by a small motorized boat. So no reason for no freshwater available.
Meals and drinks can served at the house. Please contact Mr. Natsir at Kaledupa
Subdistrict Office in Ambeua village for this purpose.
